About Vamsi Kalakuntla
From the streets of Hyderabad to the city of Dallas Vamsi’s journey has been a roller coaster, for him music is the ultimate form of artistic expression and one through which he gets to elicit emotions and inspire people by delving into its infinite depths. With his passion for music transcending beyond the spectrum of simply jotting down lyrics and singing, Vamsi blends together the lessons he learned regarding Indian classical music during his youth with the exposure afforded by his relocation to the U.S. Truly committed to discovering his own authentic sound, he integrates American pop with Telugu roots to create a beautiful synergy of infectious high-energy dance grooves.
As an artist from Hyderabad, India Vamsi Kalakuntla is taking over the Telugu Pop scene by storm, his recent releases “Mami” and “Dhanarekha” debuted in editorials and top 40’s of regional charts on various platforms. His recent accomplishments include being credited as a performer and songwriter in a Hollywood feature film “7 Days”. The film won Best Narrative Feature awards at the San Diego Asian Film Festival and the Independent Indie Spirit Award. The film also won Best First Feature at the 37th Independent Spirit Awards. It stars Deadpool fame Karan Soni and Geraldine Vishwanathan. Vamsi's song Vinave Dorasani was part of the Amazon Dormz Commercial. From playing and mixing music to writing and singing, Vamsi is now a member of The Grammys and he aims to take Telugu Pop Music to world charts.
