About Vishal Bhardwaj
Although better known for his directing and screenwriting, Vishal Bhardwaj actually started out his film career as a composer and music director. He made his debut with the children's film Abhay (The Fearless) and received widespread acclaim for Maachis in 1996. This awarded him the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. His further compositions in the films Satya and Godmother garnered him more praise, winning him the National Film Award for Best Music Direction for the latter.
