Ravi Chopra was an Indian film director and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. He was born on September 27, 1946, in Mumbai, India, and passed away on November 12, 2014. Ravi Chopra was the son of renowned filmmaker B.R. Chopra and nephew of Yash Chopra, both of whom were influential figures in the Indian film industry. Ravi Chopra started his career as an assistant director and worked on several films under his father's production banner. He made his directorial debut with the film "Zameer" in 1975. However, he gained significant recognition and success with films like "The Burning Train" (1980), "Dehleez" (1986), and "Baghban" (2003). These films showcased his ability to handle both action-packed dramas and emotional family stories. As a producer, Ravi Chopra was associated with notable films such as "Dahleez" (1986), "Bhoothnath" (2008), and "Bhoothnath Returns" (2014). He also directed and produced the popular television series "Mahabharat" (1988-1990), which is considered one of the most successful and iconic shows in Indian television history.
