About Ruhaan79

Ruhaan79 is an Indian rapper and songwriter hailing from the city of Jaipur. His stage name is a reflection of his artistic self, where the word ‘Ruhaan’ (meaning ‘soul’ in Hindi) is a representation of his superego and the numbers ‘7’ and ‘9’ represent individuality, uniqueness, and patterns of the universe. He likes making conscious, existential, self-reflective and playful music, with a signature play of simple and dark sounds. He has a unique way of narrating his experiences through the voice of his fictional characters ‘Kaidi’ (intense and hard-hitting), ‘Ruhaan’ (deep yet playful). The rapper debuted with his album Kaidi No. 79 which was produced by fellow producer DAKSH. After experimenting with a wide range of sounds, he has now carved his own signature, which he showcased in his last album Living Proof, produced by fellow producer, Trap Monk, followed by the release of their EP Lost & Found. The rapper is also one of the founder members of Atrangi Funkaar, a five-piece band known for its out-of-the-box compositions. Bands song Kho Gayi was the winner of gold track of the year at IFP 2020 in the rock category. The band released their first EP Funk Shastra in summer 2022. Right now the rapper is working on his next album, his bands projects and some collaborations.
